Both surgeons trained in foot and ankle trauma, internal fixation, and external fixation, and both still operate across the Memorial system. Dr. David Heath also took adult and pediatric foot-and-ankle call during residency, including at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.
The surgeon fee for an ankle fracture is $1,500. It does not include the hospital, anesthesia, or hardware.
A CAM walker is a removable boot that holds the foot and ankle still while a fracture or tendon injury heals. The office boot is $88. It is pneumatic, so an air bladder inside can be adjusted for fit.
