Nails, skin & ingrowns
Ingrown nails, fungus, warts, and painful calluses, handled in the $100 office visit.
The $100 office visit covers the exam, an X-ray if one is needed, and one minor procedure that day. That procedure can be an ingrown nail, a wart, or a painful callus.
A recurrent ingrown nail is treated by removing the edge that is digging in and treating the nail root so that side does not grow back the same way. Fungal nails are treated with a topical medicine, an oral medicine, or both, depending on how much of the nail is involved.
For a patient with diabetes, the visit includes a skin and nail exam. That means checking for breaks in the skin, thick nails, and spots where pressure is building.
